Journey

Tao Art Gallery x Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad

On display at The Lounge, Departure- Terminal 1 (T1)

Airports play an important role in our modern day voyage. They are the spaces people pass through on their way to new places, filled with a sense of curiosity, unpredictability and enthusiastic energy. The art selected for this curatorial project reflects the wonderment that a tryst with something new incites.

Through the abstract visuals, the traveller is filled with further inspiration as they view this artistic narrative along their journey. The art is meant to engage, creating dialogues and allowing for subjective interpretations. Similar to travel, it transports one to an alternate place and leaves much to be experienced by the person in question. Through the interesting landscapes of artists like Kallpana Shah and Vipul Prajapati, the colorful patterns weaved by Ravi Mandlik and Nahid Merchant and the intriguing narratives explored by Vyom and Mehul Rathod, each viewer is made to take an interesting journey.

The destination doesn’t matter as much as the journey, through the process of which a kind of surrender, to the travelling of both mind and body, is made to occur.
