Smita Mandlik focuses on spaces, places, and natural interconnectedness. Her pieces evoke the residues of relationships through a delicate mix of materials, allowing the viewer to sense the emotional weight embedded in her works.

Smita Mandlik

Born in 1967 in Amravati, Maharashtra, Smita Mandlik completed her M.A. in music (Classical vocal) in the year 1991 and her B.Ed. in 1994. The artist has participated in multiple Group shows including at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (1997).
From there on she has been a regular participant in Bombay Art Society, Mumbai, State Art Exhibition, Mumbai, S.C.Z.C.C., Nagpur, Art Society of India, Mumbai, A.I.F.A.C.S., New Delhi, Bhausaheb Deshmukh Arts Academy, Amravati, and Camlin Art Foundation, Western Zone. In 2012, she held a solo show titled “Aantarnaad” at followed by a solo show titled “Pulsations”, in 2008, at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2005, she participated in ‘Present-Future’ exhibition organized by NGMA, Mumbai.
The artist lives and works out of Mumbai, India.
